Smoothly, the first weekend of implementing the new digital entrance framework for fans at the Super League 1 stadiums was completed. Up to now, 15,000 fans have easily verified their ticket through the user-friendly Gov.gr Wallet app downloaded on their mobile phones from Google Play or the App Store.
According to reports, a total of 33,000 fans attended the playoffs and playouts matches in person over the weekend. The digital entrance marks the completion of the measures taken by the Ministries of Education, Religion, Sports, and Digital Governance to address fan violence. It should be noted that the digital entrance process applies to matches in the Super League 1 and the Greek Cup.
It’s important to remember that citizens need to register in the National Communication Registry (EMEP) on emep.gov.gr to use the Gov.gr Wallet app, and detailed information on the digital entrance process to stadiums is available at tickets.gov.gr.
It’s highlighted that until the end of this season in May, a hybrid entrance system will be in place at stadiums to allow time for both sports clubs and fans to adjust.
